Egyptian, Libyan involvement to settle conditions in Sudan

Egypt's Foreign Minster Ahmed Maher Saturday met with Soliman Al Shohoumi, Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the Libyan Jamahiriya.
Emerging from the meeting, Shohoumi said that the meeting with means to activate the Egyptian-Libyan initiative to bring about a comprehensive political solution in Sudan.
He added that he and Maher agreed to have more consultations with the parties concerned in Sudan to close views over issues floated on the agenda of the National Forum on Sudanese Dialogue.
On Libyan Revolution Leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's recent visit to Sudan and its impact on achieving an overall reconciliation, Shohoumi said that Gaddafi's meetings with southern readerships and government and parties representatives showed a great progress in the concepts over bones of contention, namely those pertaining to the right to self-determination and separation between religion and the state.
He noted that the Sudanese constitution issued in 1998 contained progressive provisions and absorbed many requests by the southern opposition, over which a dialogue was conducted.
Maher said that the talks took up the positive responses of the Egyptian-Libyan initiative on the Sudanese national reconciliation.
Meantime, The Sudanese daily al-Ayam said on Saturday that Libya and Egypt, the two countries who has the initiative for maintaining peace in Sudan, have asked the Sudanese government, the opposition coalition and the nation's party in Sudan to urgently provide them within the period of time not to exceed one week from now ( Saturday) written detailed proposals on the requirements of the coming phase after the consent of these side on the project of announcing the joint initiative's principles.
The Sudanese paper added according to identical sources in Khartoum and Cairo that the request of the two countries's initiative from the sides of conflicts includes several points, first of which is a detailed statement on the view point of each side on the map of the meeting and the second relates to the view point of each side of the government, the coalition and the nation's party in details about the provisional government, its forms and arrangements relating to it and the third point relates to the view points of these sides about the constitution, freedoms and human rights, besides other issues relating to the state and citizenship.
