Morocco's writers decry extermination war against Palestinian people
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 7/20/2001

The Union of Morocco's Writers (UEM) on Thursday decried "the extermination war waged by Israel against the Palestinian people."

The Union also denounced, in a release sent to MAP news agency, the silence of the international community, "which passively watches the bloodshed caused by the Zionists."

The Moroccan writers also urged honest people around the world to unveil blatant human rights violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces against innocent and unarmed Palestinians.

The Union voiced deep concern and consternation following the bombing by Israel of a cultural center in the Palestinian town of Bireh and during which Palestinian poet, Ahmed Yacoub, was seriously injured. "Such a criminal act shows the terrorist intentions of the Israelis," the Union said.
