Egypt hosts COMESA, SADC meetings
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 7/18/2001

Egypt hosts late this month an African meeting to exchange views and coordinate stances at the meetings of the fourth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) slated for Doha in November.

Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali said in statements that the African meeting would be held in Cairo on July 30-31, and would be attended by trade ministers of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).

Ghali, head of Egypt's delegation to the Arab economy and trade ministers meeting which kicked off in Cairo Tuesday, said that Kuwait has tabled a proposal to hold another Arab ministerial meeting ahead of the WTO meetings in Doha to continue coordination on the issue to be discussed at the conference.
