Morocco, Environment, 7/18/2001
Morocco's Princess Lalla Hasna, sister of King Mohammed VI and chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Environment Foundation, on Tuesday launched a nation-wide campaign for clean beaches.
The campaign was launched from the beach of Martil near the northern town of Tetouan, where the Princess heard explanations on the part of the program reserved to the area.
The action plan for clean beaches is implemented in cooperation with several partners including Omnium Nord Africain (ONA/Morocco's largest private group).
The plan provides for endowing beaches around the country with equipment necessary for cleanness and first aid to swimmers.
