On statements made by Nayouf
Syria, Politics, 7/18/2001
The Jordanian daily " al-Arab al-Youm" on Tuesday strongly criticized the statements made by Nizar Nayouf which it described as "the Syrian communist" in which he disclosed secrets that he has no right to give out to the press or even to any other side.
In an article written by Muwafaq Mahadin on Tuesday, the paper added the Syrian Communist Nayouf worked for a short period of time for the Jordanian magazine "al-Aurdon al-Jadid" (the new Jordan) and was impressed by the experience of his colleagues on the " freedoms defending committees in Jordan" and after that decided to form a similar commission in Syria.
Mahadin added it is not Nayouf's right to disclose the secrets of the state not for the press nor for others and it is also not his right to say that he " had seen by his own eyes one of the Israeli pilots in the Syrian jails as far as the Syrian government had not decided to announce that and as far as Nayouf himself knows how Israel recruited its elements and networking to know the fate of this Israeli pilot and others."
The Jordanian journalist Mahadin addressed Nayouf saying " we will be with any Arab intellectual suffers detention of arrest in any Arab prison, but we are certainly with Syria and we are not with you when you give yourself to France and the suspected 'Bin' organization at the plate of a killer Israeli Pilot ( Araad)."
