The UN, Israel and Hizbullah and the video tape

The spokesman for the UN Fred Ekhard announced that the UN has formed teams composed of six persons to investigate the way in which the question of the video tape was run, showing persons suspected to be member in the Lebanese Hizbullah party.

News reports quoted Ekhard as saying on Monday that the team which was formed is chaired by the UN assistant secretary general for the administrative affairs Joseph Konor.

The Internal investigation committee will discuss the Israeli claims that Hizbullah had bribed UNIFIL soldiers in South Lebanon in order to be able to have had kidnapped the three Israeli soldiers.

On the other hand, the UN secretary general Kofi Annan asked Konor to submit a report as soon as possible but did not set a date for that.
