New infrastructure projects to put market in high gear

The government today provides new infrastructure projects for execution in many fields that include building schools, drinking water, health and roads with investments up to LE 15 billion, with the aim of reactivating, contracting, construction and building.

An official source told A1 Ahram that Prime Minister Atef Ebeid would discuss at an expanded meeting today the executive measures for carrying out the first stage of building l000 schools.

The meeting will be attended by the Deputy Premier and Minister of agriculture Youssef Wali along with the Ministers of Information, Education, Local development, Planning and finance.

The Prime Minister will also preside over a ministerial meeting which will be devoted for discussing the report submitted by the Ministers of Finance and Planning for making an assessment of debts owed by the Ministeries until last June 15.

This measure aims at reactivating demand and pumping new funds into public and private business sector.

The Prime Minister had presided over a meeting by the economic ministerial group for reviewing measures for reactivating the market.

The economic group reviewed with Abdel Shakur Shaalan, the representative of the Arab group in the IMF, measures to be taken by the Egyptian government for reactivating the market and marketing dollar bonds.
