Assassination policy is misleading

Morocco's King Mohammed VI on Friday inspected a literacy center in the northern city of Tangiers. The king was briefed on the results of exams taken by elderly pupils. The success rate stood at 47.24 percent for men and 52.76 for women. He also heard explanation on next year's program part of which literacy courses will be given to 10,000 people. Go

President Bashar al-Assad on Friday sent a cable of congratulations to President Jacques Chirac of France on the occasion of France National day which falls July 14. He renewed his thanks over the warm welcome he received during the visit he made to France, as well as his deep satisfaction over the results of the talks he had held with the French President and French officials. Morocco's King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Princess Lalla Meryem, received in Tangier Friday Koichiro Matsuura, Director-General of the UNESCO. Matsuura handed to Princess Lalla Meryem, chairwoman of the National Child Right Observatory, the certificate of her appointment as UNESCO Good-Will Ambassador, in recognition to her action to defend child's rights and causes around the World. The Egyptian " October" magazine in its recent issue said that the French media issued following the visit of President Bashar al-Assad and his wife to France did not hide admiration in the charter of the Syrian first lay " her calm beauty, cleverness and culture." The magazine said that most of the French media changed its mind on President al-Assad and his wife to the opposite direction, ultimately following the visit which turned upside down all pre-fabricated concepts and views. Moroccan famed writer, Mohamed Zafzaf, passed away in Casablanca Friday after a long disease. The writer was following medical care in France until last June 15. Many of Zazaf's books were translated into foreign languages, especially French. He was teacher of philosophy in Moroccan and French universities. Go

The Palestinian official in charge of planning and international cooperation in the Palestinians Authority Nabil Shaath has stressed that there is a general agreement among the European states on the need of having UN observers in the Palestinian territories. In an interview with the " Sawt al-Arab radio", Shaath indicated that these UN observers will ensure protection for the Palestinians the same way for all as a guarantee for the stability of the ME region as a whole.
