Mubarak receives message from Al-Bashir
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 7/14/2001

The Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir expressed relief over the positive developments in the track of Sudanese-Egyptian relations in accordance with his agreement with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak during their meetings, recent of which was in Sharm El-Sheikh on May 13.

At a meeting with Sudanese ambassador to Egypt Ahmad Abdul-Halim, Bashir praised the outcome of the first convening session of the joint higher committee in Khartoum, considering it as a basis for a new stage of integration between Khartoum and Cairo.

"Bashir voiced intent on continuing the march and said he accepts no ceiling for Sudan-Egypt relations less than unity," Abdul-Halim told MENA.

He added that Bashir sent a message to Mubarak, declining to speak on its content. Abdul-Halim said that he will leave Khartoum at dawn Monday after taking part in preparations for the technical joint higher committees.
