Israeli army broke into al-Khalil after destructive bombardment

The Israeli tanks on Friday at dawn attacked the city of al-Khalil in all directions, while the Israeli artillery was bombarding the residential area in the city from surrounding hills. The bombardment resulted in destroying several houses and displacing its citizens as well as wounding 65. A position for the Palestinian "force number 17" was destroyed. "force number 17" are the guards of the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat. Three members of this force were wounded.

Then the Israeli forces started to break into the city from various sides. They launched a terrifying campaign against the citizens quoted by news agencies and world TVs depicting the Palestinian children crying.

The Israeli radio said that breaking into the city of al-Khalil (Hebron) falls in the course of the new plan approved by the government of Sharon who said that the " policy of his government from now on is an immediate reply to the Palestinian attacks."

Sharon added that the Israeli forces will proceed forward in its plan to guarantee "the security" claiming once again that Jerusalem will be the united capital for Israel.

Eye- witnesses said that the city of Hebron witnesses a real war.

Electricity was cut from most of the city's quarters while ambulances were running among the shells in an attempt to rescue the wounded.

Meantime, the Israeli tanks broke into vast area of Nablus and controlled several Palestinian houses and converted them into points of military inspection, while the Israeli settlers were burning the agricultural crops in the villages surrounding the city and uprooting olive trees.

In Toulkarem, the Palestinian citizen Fawaz Bashir Badran from the Palestinian resistance movement " Hamas" was killed when his booby trapped car went off while he was trying to open it.

The Hamas movement stressed that this operation by Israel falls in the course of its plan to liquidate the activists of the Palestinian Intifada and it will repel this aggressive act.

News reports said that violent confrontations took place between the Palestinian citizens and the Israeli occupation forces following the assassination act in which several Arab were wounded, the Israeli forces prevented ambulances from rescuing them.

The Palestinian Atif Muhammad Tafesh was killed by the Israeli bullets while implanting an explosive on the road leading to Elei Senai settlement to the north of Gaza.

The Israeli TV commentator commented on this operation by saying "there is a Israeli plan states to use all types of weapons to counter the Palestinians who continue acts of resistance."
