Bin Aleazer confers with Satterfield, Arafat with Sharon's son

The Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Aleazer on Thursday met with David Satterfield the special envoy of the US secretary of state Colin Powell.

The Israeli radio quoted Bin Aleazer as describing during the meeting the situation in the Palestinian territories as difficult and that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat as speaking in double- messages. He simultaneously claimed that Israel is committed to the " Tenet" US document, but its implementing is not proceeding forward but he did not specify the reason behind not implementing it.

Bin Aleazer called on the US and Europe to make pressures on Arafat to force him to stop what he called the acts of violence.

On the other hand, son of the Israeli prime minister Omri Sharon on Thursday evening met with Arafat. The Israeli radio quoted an Israeli source as saying that the decision of the Israeli prime minister's decision to delegate his son to meet with Arafat shows the concern Sharon feels towards the deterioration of latest conditions in the Palestinian areas.
