Belgian circles speak of a chance to arrest Sharon after the end of the investigations
Israel-Belgium, Politics, 7/13/2001

The Belgian weekly "the Bulletin" has stated that there is an opportunity to arrest the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon after the completion of investigations carried out by the Belgian judge Patrick Coloniol on committing crimes against humanity in Lebanon in 1982.

In an article written by Allen Hope, the magazine added if Sharon will be involved in the system of the Belgian judiciary measures it is possible that a warrant arrest will be issued against him, the same way for any dangerous case, noting that if Sharon will hold a trip to a certain country which signed an international agreement with Belgium in order to hand over criminals, judge Coloniol can ask for arresting him and hand him to the Belgian courts.

Hope added that despite that, this might not happen, but the case has already started and can not be easily halted, unless political channels will interfere.
