Al-Shara holds intensive contacts to discuss condition in the region

The Syrian foreign minister Farouk al- Shara on Thursday received a telephone call from the Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa.
During the telephone call discussions dealt with convening an emergency meeting for the Arab follow up committee of the Cairo Arab summit conference in order to discuss latest conditions in the region under the daily Israeli escalation in the occupied Arab territories.
On Thursday afternoon, a telephone call was made between al-Shara and the Saudi foreign minister prince Saud al-Faisal during which the two ministers made consultations on latest developments of conditions in the region and the continued Israeli escalation.
Also a similar telephone call was held on Thursday between al-Shara and the Lebanese foreign minister Mahmoud Hammoud during which view points were exchanged concerning latest developments.
Al-Shara also received on Thursday a telephone call from his Jordanian counterpart Abdul Illah al-Khatib.
Talks during this telephone call dealt with convening an emergency meeting for the Arab follow up committee of the Cairo Arab summit in order to discuss latest conditions in the region under the Israeli aggressive policy.
Meantime, the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa has announced that an emergency meeting will be held for the Arab follow up committee at the level of the 10 Arab foreign ministers, members in the said committee on Wednesday in Cairo.
In a statement he made in Cairo on Thursday Moussa said that the meeting will concentrate on the continued Israeli attacks against the Palestinians and Israel's threats and aggressions against Syria and Lebanon which constitute a threat to the security and stability in the Middle East region.
Moussa said that the ministerial meeting will be preceded by a meeting for the Arab follow up committee at the level of high ranking officials next Tuesday.
Worthy mentioning that the Arab follow up committee includes in its membership Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Tunisian, Morocco, Bahrain and Yemen.
