Statements made by the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon in which he considered that the Jewish settlements in the Golan heights as never to be " tracked back," on Wednesday raised satisfaction among the Israeli settlers and the protest of the Syrian people of the Golan.

Bar-Lieve added " we know for years that this is his ( Sharon) views. Now all become to know that the settlement in the Golan is no more a matter that needed to be discussed." He expressed his satisfaction because the government "decided to continue developing the Golan and develop investments in this land."
