Arafat's accession is behind Abu Mazen's isolation

A high ranking Palestinian officials disclosed that there is a complete boycott since more than two months between Mahmoud Abbas ( Abu Mazen) and the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat because of that Abu Mazen held two months ago meetings with American high ranking leaderships and intelligence, during which complete American support was voiced for Abu Mazen to be the man to replace Yasser Arafat.

Upon the Palestinian leadership becaming aware about the American proposals, it delegated Saeb Oreikat urgently to Washington to inform the American officials a very tough message on the attempt and the intention they disclosed to Mahmoud Abbas who isolates himself at home away from the Palestinian political scene.
