Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher meets today a delegation of the Union of Third World Churches, under Priest Oklayma Ring, chief of Japanese protestant church, who presently visits Egypt to discuss the possibility of holding an international conference in Egypt in the year 2002, to be attended by all third world churches.
The delegates visited Ismailia yesterday with 25 American businessmen, to study investment opportunities in the technology valley, east of Suez Canal.
In a meeting with Ismailia governor, the delegation members praised the national unity between Egyptian Muslims and Copts. They said that their visit was liable to be cancelled, but they received thousands of messages over fax and e-mail from subjects of Egyptian churches who denied that Copts are maltreated or targeted by the press.
