Tunisia-Morocco, Politics, 7/11/2001

The 5th session of the Moroccan-Tunisian concertation and follow-up committee will be meeting this July 12-14, an official source said.

The meeting will be co-chaired by Morocco's secretary of state to foreign affairs and cooperation, Taieb Fassi Fihri, and Tunisian secretary of state in charge of Maghreban and African affairs, Sadok Fayala.

The two states, which are members to the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) that also groups Algeria, Libya and Mauritania, had convened last week in Morocco the second political consultation meeting.

Morocco's minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, and Tunisian peer, Habib Ben yahia, attended the session and hailed the excellence of bilateral relations and measures taken to intensify exchanges and consolidate cooperation between Morocco and Tunisia.

The head of the Moroccan diplomacy was also received by Tunisian president, Zine El Abidine Benali to whom he conveyed a message from King Mohammed VI.
