Iraqis are exempted from visas to Syria
Iraq-Syria, Politics, 7/11/2001
The BBC said that Syria has cancelled the visa system used to be imposed on the Iraqi citizens who want to visit Syria.
The radio said on Tuesday that the Iraqi minister of Commerce Muhammad Mahdi Saleh announced that in Baghdad.
The radio added that observers say that this step is one of the indications on the development of relations between Damascus and Baghdad after years of boycott because of Syria's support to Iran in its war with Iraq and Syria's joining the international coalition which resulted in expelling Iraq out of Kuwait in 1991.
