On Arafat's visit to Damascus

The Israeli radio on Monday quoted well-informed Palestinian sources in Gaza as saying that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat will visit Damascus on July 17 at the invitation of President Bashar al-Assad.
These sources said that Arafat's visit to Damascus coincides with the first anniversary of President al-Assad's assuming power in Syria in succession for his late father.
The sources indicated that a high ranking Palestinian delegation will visit Damascus within the few coming days to prepare for this visit.
The radio added that several Palestinian sides had set dates for such a visit but did not take place.
