Egypt lauds Sudan's repeated calls for ceasefire and reconciliation

Sudanese President Omar Hassan Bashir expressed his keenness to work with President Hosni Mubarak on promoting bilateral relations. This came in the final communique of the Egyptian- Sudanese higher committee, held under First Vice President Ali Othman Taha and Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid.The communique expressed the two sides' support for lifting the UN sanctions imposed on Sudan.

On its part the Egyptian side expressed appreciation for the Sudanese government's approval of the Egyptian -Libyan initiative aiming at achieving national reconciliation in Sudan.

The Egyptian side lauded the Sudanese government's repeated call for a ceasefire.
