Egypt safe from ME water conflict
A team of water consultants and construction engineers was recently dispatched to inspect the Blue Nile from the air. In response to its findings the Minister of Public Works and Water Resources, Mahmoud Abu Zeid, said: "The committee did not see any construction work in the area, and there is no sign of Israeli aide to Ethiopia as far as dam projects are concerned."

US credibility questioned in plane crash report
US aviation officials were accused of dishonesty and deception by EgyptAir's Chairman Mohammed Fahim Rayan. Speaking before the Parliamentary Committee for Transport and Communications Rayan said: "American aviation officials suggested that we should cooperate and tacitly agree that co-pilot Gamil al-Battouti probably caused the Boeing 767 aircraft to begin its fatal dive on October 31, 1999."

The Iraqi economic delegation which includes 8 heads of the Iraqi chambers of Commerce on Friday concluded its visit to Lebanon. The visit covered the heads of the chambers of the Lebanese heads of the chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture in Beirut, Zahleh, Tripoli and Sidon. Go

A Belgian delegation of officials and businessmen will be visiting Morocco next September 9-12, Belgium's ambassador in Morocco, Michel Carlier announced. The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon has received an invitation from the Italian government to visit Rome but no date has been so far set for such a visit. An official at the Israeli cabinet presidium said that Sharon received the invitation after his election as a prime minister in February. In May, Italy condemned Israel's use of excessive force against the Palestinians, stressing that Israel is mistaken if it believes it can subjugate the Palestinians. Go
