Regional, Politics, 7/6/2001
The higher coordination committee of the joint Arab work establishments on Thursday held a meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League (AL) under the chairmanship of the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa. It was attended by the ambassadors and representatives of the Arab states to the AL.
The AL secretary general Amr Moussa said that the meeting was dedicated to discuss means of revitalizing and developing the establishments of common Arab work and that he proposed to heads and directors of the specialized Arab organizations and permanent representatives his special plan to restructuring the AL and its establishments and means enabling this foundation carrying out its role in supporting joint Arab work activities.
Arab diplomatic sources took part in the meeting said that discussions centered on ways of achieving a sort of linking between these establishments and the AL in a way that each foundation carries out its programs in the Arab states and each establishment should not work separately.
Worthy mentioning that the AL chief is charged by the recent Amman's Arab summit to develop common Arab work and Moussa had announced since he assumed the post of the AL secretary general in the mid of May that he has a complete plan to restructure the Arab League.
