Mubarak Kuwaiti deputy premier discuss situation in ME

Egyptian President Mubarak received Wednesday at Bourg EL Arab, Alexandria, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence, who is carrying a message from Kuwait Emir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.

Minister of Defence and Military Production and Commander -in-Chief Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi attended the meeting.

Following the meeting, military talks were held under the co-chairmanship of Tantawi and Sheikh Jaber.

Senior Egyptian military official attended talks, members of Sheikh Jaber's accompanying delegation and Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cairo Abdel Aal El-Qena'ie.

Both parties reviewed the situation on the regional and international arenas, the Middle East peace process, in addition to a number of issues of mutual interest. They also discussed means to further military cooperation.

In statements following the meeting, Sheikh Jaber said he delivered a message from the Kuwaiti Emir to President Hosni Mubarak.

"The Kuwaiti people and leadership will never forget Mubarak's pro-Arab stances,"Sheikh Jaber added.

The Kuwaiti Deputy also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, especially those regarding military cooperation.

Tantawi, on his part, asserted that Egypt and Kuwait have always been enjoying deeply -rooted relations.
