Association launches nationwide campaign to support Palestinian people

The Moroccan association of support to the Palestinian people struggle will be staging this July 10 through 20 a nationwide campaign to bring support to the Palestinian people.

The campaign entitled "I am Palestinian" consists of a bank account that was opened to raise fund for the cause, the selling of post cards and an art show to be broadcast by the two TV channels with the collaboration of the Palestinian TV. Funds will be used to buy 10 complete intensive care units, estimated at 20 million Dirhams (US$ 1.8 million).

The humanitarian action is meant to make up for losses incurred by the Palestinian economy since the start of the Intifadah II in September 2000 and the damages of the country's health facilities: 62% of ambulances were damaged.

A study by the Health Development Information and Policy Institute says between September 28 and June 27, a total of 548 Palestinians died, of whom 31.2% are aged less than 18.
