Heads of Islamic associations and centers in the west meet in Spain
Regional, Religion, 7/5/2001

Heads of Islamic cultural centers and associations in western countries will be meeting this July 5-8 in Granada (Spain), a meeting that is part of the Islamic cultural strategy in the West adopted in the 9th Islamic summit.

The meeting, cosponsored by the Rabat-based Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the Islamic Development Bank, will look into a draft strategy to associate Islamic expatriate intellectuals and implementation of the Islamic cultural action in the west. The strategy, crafted by ISESCO, identifies goals, means and methods to supply to these centers the educational and cultural tools for Muslim communities and minorities in the West.

It will also be an opportunity for heads of Islamic cultural centers and associations in western countries to coordinate their action meant to correct the image of Islam in western media.
