Al-Shara discussed with British counterpart deteriorated conditions in the occupied territories

The Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Wednesday discussed with the British counterpart at the headquarters of the British foreign ministry in London the Mitchell report and the deteriorated conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories in light of the stances of the Sharon's government position.

Then a plenary session was held at a lunch work banquet, attended by the Syrian delegation accompanying al-Shara and high ranking British foreign ministry officials during which conditions in the Middle East were reviewed especially discussions of the UN Security Council and Syria's position regarding the American- British proposal concerning "the smart sanctions" against Iraq on the ground of Syria's principled stances on not accepting the expansion the suffering of the Iraqi people, on the one hand, and not to take any measure hat violates national sovereignty.
