A donation fund for less growth Arab states
Regional, Economics, 7/5/2001

The Arab economic unity council has approved the establishment of a compensation fund for the Arab states which have slow growth in countries which are joined under the umbrella of the common Arab market.

This was expressed during the meeting held between the secretary general of the Fund Ahmad Jweili with the permanent representatives in order to approve the general framework of the common Arab economic work strategy for the council during the two coming decades.

The Arab economic strategy is divided into three set stages. An appropriate program for the lower growth Arab states will be concluded in order to ensure their capability to implement the strategy. A work team was assigned to draw the executive framework for the strategy and its proposed programs. These programs include the customs federation, the Arab development program, an area for technological development and the joint Arab projects.
