Mubarak, Arafat discuss Israeli violations, full implementation of Mitchell recommendations

The Egyptian President Mubarak Monday night received Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat with whom he discussed the latest developments in the occupied territories, latest and Israeli violations, Israeli escalations, ways of rallying support for the Palestinians and progress of contacts with the US administration.

Arafat was also due to meet with the Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa for discussing the latest developments in the occupied lands.

Prince Abdullah received at Montazah Palace Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and his accompanying delegation.

Palestinian sources said Prince Abdullah briefed Arafat on the outcome of his meetings with a number of European leaderships on the situation in the Middle East and the Palestinian cause.

That the Saudi Crown Prince warned that the region could slip into the point of no return in case Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon sustained his aggressive policies against legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian sources said the Saudi Crown Prince, during his talks with Secretary of State Colin Powell, called for the United States to shoulder its responsibility and to exert pressures on Israel.

On his part, Arafat briefed Prince Abdullah on the outcome of his meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres.
