Kuwait closes its military offices abroad

The Kuwaiti ministry of defense has intended to take a decision to close the offices of the military attaches in several states including Turkey, Lebanon, Australia and the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, except Saudi Arabia.
The Kuwaiti daily al-Watan said in its Sunday's issue quoting military sources as saying that these offices were opened during the Iraqi invasion in 1990 for security reasons and for maintaining military cooperation between Kuwait and these countries.
The paper explained that after the elapse of 10 years, the Kuwaiti minisry of defense found itself it is in need to rebuilding and organizing foreign military offices in light of the need for them and their imporance in the context of reducing the state's budget.
