Maghreban equipment and public works ministers wind up session

The Maghreban ministerial council of equipment and public works wound up in Tripoli on Monday their 8th session with the adoption of a package of resolutions meant to develop and carry out environment, road, irrigation and water projects.

The council also called for an active participation of countries of the region in the 7th conference on climatic changes slated for next October in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Ministers voiced satisfaction over the member countries environment policies and efforts to conform to the Maghreban charter of environment protection and sustained development.

The Maghreban road projects was also part of the agenda of the ministers council which decided to adopt in their upcoming session priority road stretches in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. Other items on the agenda included water and irrigation issues.

The upcoming session will be held next February 2002 in Mauritania.
