Rome golden gala meeting: Morocco's el-Guerrouj wins mile, Bidouane wins 400 m hurdles

Morocco's Hicham El-Guerrouj on Friday won the mile race of the Rome Golden League athletics meeting. El-Guerrouj covered the distance in 3:44.95, clocking the best performance of the year. The second rank went to Kenya's Bernard Lagat and the third to Spain's Andres Diaz.
In the women's 400 m hurdles, Nezha Bidouane made a strong comeback after a long absence for injury. The former world champion of the distance bagged the race in 54.54 ahead of Jamaica's Parris Debie and US Bufford-Bailey Tonja.
