Patriarch Maximus 5th Hakim dies at 93

Patriarch Maximus 5th Hakim of Antoich and the East for the Greek-Catholic church died in Beirut's Qalb Yasu ( heart of Christ) hospital on Friday at 93 year old.
The funeral ceremony will be declared later.
Worthy mentioning the late patriarch Hakim was born in 1908 in Tanta, Egypt and received his education in the School of Saint Hanna al-Saleheyah in Jerusalem.
He was a bishop on 1930 and became an archbishop in 1943. He was elected as a patriarch for the Greek- Catholics in 1967. Because of his illness he could not continue his patriarchal duties and thus he resigned this year. Instead of him patriarch Gregorius Lahham III was elected.
