Mrs. Mubarak follows up developing special needs schools

The Egyptian First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, chairperson of the Integrated Care Society, attended on Wednesday a meeting at the headquarters of the society in Almaza district of Cairo.

The meeting took up a plan for developing Cairo governorate schools for children with special needs, which aims at providing educational, health, social and psychological care for those children.

Mrs. Mubarak reviewed during the meeting the second stage of developing these schools, including providing them with advanced Audio-Visual aids equipment.

Five schools of children with special needs were chosen to be developed as a start to the development programme.

The schools of Nasr City, AL Salam City, AL Waili, AL Sayeda Aisha, AL Khalifa and Ahmed Oraby will be the first in the development programme.

The schools will be fitted with modern equipment to help children with special needs to develop their skills.

Meantime,Mrs. Mubarak will chair the Egyptian delegation to Arab High-level conference on childhood will start next Monday till July 4 in Cairo.

The conference will consider a number of issues including the Arab working plan in the field of childhood until 2010.

Arab delegations will try to unify their concepts on children's rights. Moreover, mechanism will be laid for Arab children in accordance with Arab summit resolutions in Amman last March.

The conferees will also agree on a unified Arab vision in preparation for the UN special session on childhood due to beheld in New York next September.
