New American, British strikes against Iraq

British warplanes on Tuesday launched a new attack against Southern Iraq for the second time within two days.
News reports said that the American central leadership positioned in Tampa, Florida claimed that the joint British- American raids against areas near al-Basra port were in response to the fire of the Iraqi anti- aircraft means.
The leadership explained that Monday's raid was launched by F14 Tomkans warplanes of the US naval forces and Tuesday's raid was by the British planes G 4.1 Tornado, noting that in the two raids the bombardment operations were decided after opening fire at planes which were in ordinary exercises over the "no- fly zone" in southern Iraq.
