Blair, King Abdullah discuss ME, Iraq conditions
Jordan-UK, Politics, 6/27/2001
A spokesman for the British prime minister Tony Blair said that Blair has met with the Jordanian King Abdullah on Tuesday and called for the full implementation of the peace plan for which the US mediated to stop fighting in the Middle East.
The spokesman added the two men held talks for half an hour at the headquarters of the British prime minister also discussing the Iraqi question.
Earlier this week, Blair met with the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon who stopped in London on his way to the US in order to hold talks with the US President George Bush dealing with the ME.
The spokesman continued that Blair calls for full implementation of the cease- fire plan in the Middle East which was negotiated by the director of the US, CIA George Tenet, noting: our role is not of the same volume of certain countries. But this does not mean that we can not play a role.
On the other hand the higher coordination committee of the Jordanian opposition parties which includes 14 members, called for amending the election law and canceling the principles of the one vote for the one voter.
