Saudi prince donates one million dollars for mosque in Lisbon

Saudi prince Salmane Ibnu Abdelaziz, governor of the Riyadh region, announced on Friday a US$ one million donation to carry on construction works at a mosque, started in 1985.
The Saudi official who is visiting Lisbon at the invitation of the Portuguese capital city mayor also re-named the mosque "Mosque of the Guardian of the two holy mosques."
Last June, the Portuguese government has allocated US$ 500,000 to contribute to the construction of the capital's only worshipping site for Muslims.
The Saudi prince also dedicated the new premises of his country's embassy in Lisbon and met president Jorge Sampaio, prime minister, Antonio Guterres and other officials and business leaders.
