Rabat Festival Kicks Off

The 7th edition of the Rabat festival kicked off Thursday by a music concert.The festival to last this year 40 days (June 21 through July 31), instead of the usual 15 days, features concerts, literary evenings, plays, films, exhibitions, colloquiums, and other cultural events.
More than 40 countries from the five continents will participate in the festival that will be marked by the presentation of an epic by Moroccan and Egyptian artists dedicated to the Palestinian people and to the Al-Aqsa Intifada.
The festival also features the awarding of a Hassan II cinema prize and a Palestinian movie week (June 23-27). Movies by Egyptian, Algerian, Tunisian, Lebanese, Syrian, Iranian, Haitian, French, German, Dutch, Serbian, and Spanish directors will be competing for the Prize.
