23 Iraqis killed in an air raid

In the course of the continued attacks held by the US and Britain against Iraq, an Iraqi media source said on Wednesday that some 23 Iraqi citizens were killed and other 11 wounded as a result of the US and British bombardment near al-Mousel to the north of Iraq.

The source said that the bombardment targeted a football playground and resulted in killing 23 Iraqis who were playing football in Tel Afer village, 45 Km to the west of their village al-Mousel.

The source added that "this new ugly crime committed by the US, to be added to its crimes against the Iraqi people."

Meanwhile, the chairman of the French- Iraqi parliamentary friendship committee Serge Matthew at the French Senate has called for lifting the embargo imposed on Iraq since more 11 years, stressing he will brief the French officials on his talks during the visit he is currently holding to Baghdad.

Mathew arrived on Monday in Baghdad on top of a delegation including 4 members of parliament and three doctors in a visit to Iraq which will last until tomorrow ( Friday) in order to be acquainted with the sufferings of the people of Iraq. The delegation will meet during its visit with the minister of health Omid Midhat Mubarak and visit one of the children hospitals in Baghdad.

Meantime, the UN sanction committee has released contracts of a value of USD 10.48 million, Iraqi had signed to import human vaccine and set a precondition that UN observers to monitor the final destiny of these products. SANA.
