Arab follow up committee stresses revitalizing boycott of Israel
Regional-Israel, Politics, 6/19/2001
The Arab follow up committee has expressed great pride over the heroic steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their heroic uprising "in the face of the fierce onslaught hatched by Israel against them."
In its final statement issued on Monday evening, the committee, meeting in Amman called on the Arab states to stand by the Palestinians and their militant struggle and legitimate rights until their legitimate rights are restored to self determination and to the establishment of their own independent state with Jerusalem as a capital.
The committee reviewed recent developments on the Palestinian arena since the recent meeting of the committee in Cairo which coincided with the escalation of the Israeli threats against Syria and Lebanon. A matter which is considered by the committee as a threaten to world peace and security.
The committee recommended the need of continued Arab financial support to the Intifada through the two funds of al-Intifada and al-Aqsa and called on the Arab states to fulfil their financial obligations to the two funds.
The committee stressed firm confrontation to the Israeli forces to infiltrate into the Arab homeland under any pretext and to stop holding any sort of relations with Israel.
The committee also called for revitalizing the Arab boycott of Israel through regular convening of Arab- boycott conferences with the aim of preventing dealing with Israel in implementation of the boycott procedures and stressed full Arab solidarity with Syria and Lebanon against the continued Israeli threats and consider these threats as an aggression against the Arab nation.
