On the Qatari- Bahraini border issue
Bahrain-Qatar, Politics, 6/19/2001

The ruler of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa has stressed that the verdict of the International court of Justice in the Hague concerning settlement of the border differences between al-Manama and Doha was a gain jointly acquired by the two states for the common future.

In a speech he delivered during his visit to the Bahraini defense forces on the occasion of ending the state of Alert in Hawar island after the issuance of the decision of the International Court of Justice to end the border disputes between Qatar and Bahrain, the ruler of Bahrain hoped that firm integration ties will be bolstered between the two states.

He also stressed the ties of friendship and common economic and social unity between the two states in the context of the Gulf Cooperation Council framework.
