King Abdullah desolves the parliament, a reshuffle in Abu al-Ragheb's government

The secretary general of the Arab league (AL) Amre Mousa has stressed the importance of the meeting of the Arab follow up committee which was held in Amman on Sunday.
In press statements Mousa said that the committee will discuss in its meeting several important issues, foremost being the situation in the region in the framework of the regional and international diplomatic efforts taking place in the region.
Mousa explained that the agenda of the follow up committee includes other topics including the Iraqi question and the efforts made to maintain stability in Somalia and the situation in Sudan.
Meantime, the Jordanian King Abdullah II on Saturday enacted a royal decree for a reshuffle in the government of the Jordanian prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb through which he appointed 13 new ministers. They are: Abdul Razzaq Tbeishat as a minister for rural and municipal affairs, Saleh al-Qallab as a minister of information; Taleb al-Refa? as a minister of tourism and antiquities, Abdul Rahim al-Akkour minister of state; Eid al-Shakhabenah as a minister of state for legal affairs; Ahmad Halil as a minister of Islamic Trust ( al-Awqaf) and the Islamic sites; Mamoun Muhammad Nour eddine as a minister of youths and sport; Muhammad Ali al-Bateynah as a minister of energy and mineral resources; Hazem al-Nasser as a minister of waters and irrigation; Faleh al-Nasser as a minister of health, Nader al-Zahabi as a minister of transport, Mahmoud Ayed al-Dweiri as a minister of agriculture; and Mousa Khalaf al-Maani as a minister of state.
The new ministers took their constitutional oath before King Abdullah on Saturday evening.
Earlier in the day a royal decree was issued stated to accept the resignation of the following Jordanian ministers: Saleh Ershidat the deputy premier and transport minister, the minister of health Abdul Salaam al-Abbadi, Youssef al-Dabaleij the minister of state for social affairs; the minister of tourism and antiquities Aqel Beltaji; Saeed Shaqam the minister of youths and sport, Wael Sabri the minister of energy and mineral resources, Zuheir Zanouna the minister of agriculture;, Adel Shareida minister of state, Hatem Helwani minister of waters and irrigation and Deif Allah al-Masa?edah the minister of state for legal affairs.
This is, however, the first cabinet reshuffle on the government of Abu al-Ragheb which was formed on June 19, 2000.
The Jordanian King also enacted another royal decree stated to desolve the parliament as from Saturday.
