Unified vision to solve Arab child's problems

The Arab high-level conference on childhood due to be held under Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak early July aims at crystallizing a unified vision on Arab children so as to propose a vision at the special session of the UN General Assembly in September.

The four-day conference holds its sessions at the headquarter of the Arab League (AL).

Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa extended an invitation to all Arab governments, civil organizations and international organizations to Participate in the conference.

The conference discusses Arab framework document on Child's rights endorsed by Amman summit last March. That summit had previously issued resolution No 216 to be applied to all children in all Arab world.

The conferences focuses on challenges, faced by Arab children, the foremost of which are:

-About 11 million Arab child away from school.

-About 10 million Labour child.

-Arab children's suffering in the Arab occupied territories.

On the other hand, family library starts issuing its first publications of "Read for your child" scheme, by which the activities of Reading-for-All Festival kick off this year.

On the other hand, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak inaugurates today Fayoum culture palace, from which the activities of Reading-for-all Festival start this year.

"Four million pounds have been dedicated to set up 2000 libraries at youth centers with 380,000 new books to be read by one million youth," Hilal added.
