Morocco's phosphates sales on the rise

Morocco exported up to last April the equivalent of 4.7 billion dirhams (nearly $ 470 million) of phosphates and by-products exports.
The figure represents a 20 percent rise compared to the same period of 2000, when the exports were worth 3.9 billion Dirhams.
Natural and chemical fertilizers exports also increased by 16.4 percent to total 1.3 billion Dirhams, while phosphoric acid sales grew by 1.7 percent only.
Phosphates and by-products account for 18 percent of all Morocco's exports.
