Jorf lasfar power plant, a great success, US corp. says
Morocco-USA, Business, 6/14/2001

The Jorf Lasfar power plant is a great success for CMS-Energy, said William Mccornick, president of the governing board of the US corporation, which built the plant in Jorf Lasfar port (220 km south of Rabat).

The plant is now operational and works very well, Mccornick told the press in Washington.

The official underlined that the project's success makes the corporation enthusiastic abut investing in Morocco. "We are certainly open to all possibilities to make more investments in Morocco," he said. He added that CMS-Energy decided to invest more in the Middle-East and especially in the gulf in the late 1990's in view of growing demands of power and drinking water in the region.

CMS-Energy is the world's 12th power producer and 5th oil producer. It operates in several countries, including Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon and Tunisia.
