High quality honey from Tlass to Arafat
Syria-Palestine, Politics, 6/14/2001

The chairman of the Palestinian national council Salim al-Zanoun said that he had met during his recent visit to Syria with the Syrian minister of defense Lt. Gen. Mustafa Tlass who told him to convey his greetings to President Arafat " and sent him an amount of excellent honey."

Al-Zanoun added that " Tlass chose honey as a means to apologize for what he had done against Arafat just one year before." The Syrian defense minister criticized Arafat in a speech he delivered in Lebanon. A matter which raised great regret among the Palestinians ( in the Palestinian territories) and asked Tlass to apologize for Arafat.

Worthy mentioning that during the current week al-Zanoun visited Damascus at the invitation of the speaker of the Syrian parliament Abdul Qader Qaddoura. He also took part together with a delegation representing the Palestinian National Council in celebrating the first death anniversary of the late Syrian President Hafez al-Assad.
