Chirac stresses France's desire to strengthen relations with the Arab states

The French President Jacques Chirac has stressed that France is looking forward to maintaining close and firm cooperation with the Arab states. He added that what would contribute to developing French- Arab relations is supported and encouraged by France.
In a message the French President sent to the chairman of the Arab chamber of commerce in Paris Michael Habib on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the chamber, President Chirac added the current efforts made by France in order to achieve peace in the region, reveal the importance paid by France to consolidate her relations with the Arab region which is close to France historically.
He commended the Arab chamber of commerce as an esteemed institution representing an open space to convene meetings that enable the consolidation of relations between France and the Arab states.
He also commended the work of the Syrian chamber of commerce which successfully attained tangible services for the Arab- French dialogue, which, for its part, one of the solid priorities of France's policy.
