Bush and the transfer of the American embassy

The US President George W. Bush on Monday evening signed a document that postpone the transfer of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem for the next six months. The Hebrew- language Israeli radio quoted the US state department Colin Powell as saying that postponing the transfer of the embassy comes as a measure aiming at preserving the vital American interests in the Middle East region.
However, Powell stressed that the current American Administration is committed to transferring the American embassy to occupied Jerusalem in the future.
