Morocco, Togo set up joint commission

Morocco and Togo signed on Monday a convention of understanding and consultation providing inter-alia for the setting up a joint cooperation commission.
The convention was initialed in Casablanca by the two countries' foreign ministers, Mohamed Benaissa and Koffi Panou, on the sidelines of the friendship and work visit President Gnassingbe Eyadema of Togo paid to Morocco June 10-12.
Benaissa said during the signing ceremony that the convention is a new stride towards the consolidation of bilateral cooperation mainly in the financial, economic, commercial, technical, social, cultural, tourist and scientific realms.
He said the two sides will hold other meetings to identify means of materializing the convention provisions.
Koffi Panou who described political relations between the two countries as "good" stressed the need to increase exchanges and enhance economic cooperation.
