Qatar: the constitution committee discusses the final formula in September

A Qatari daily said on Monday that the committee in charge of preparing the constitution in Qatar will discuss in next September the final formula to the project after the sub branch committee has completed laying its perceptions to this end.

The Qatari al-Watan daily said that the committee which was formed by the ruler of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani in 1998 to draw a permanent constitution for the country will be meeting in September to discuss the " final formula" for the project before it will be submitted to the ruler of Qatar by the beginning of next year (2002).

The paper added that the " sub committees of the main committee in charge of preparing the draft constitution have completed drawing its concepts concerning assigned topics and will put the final touches on its reports so as to submit them to the final committee."

The paper explained that Arab experts in constitutions will be recruited especially from Jordan in order to take part in the final formulation of the constitution which sources expected to be adopted in its final form in September 2002 and then to be put into actual implementation after it will be approved by the ruler of Qatar.
