Cairo's Arab economic summit postponed until December

Sources in Amman said that Egypt informed Jordan about the postponement of the date to convene the Arab economic Cairo's summit which was due to be held in October until December this year.

The recent Arab summit which was held in Amman in March approved the convening of an economic Arab summit in Cairo with the aim to follow up the implementation of the economic resolutions concluded by the Amman Arab summit.

The reason behind the postponement of the economic summit goes back for coinciding the date of its convening with the convening of the meeting of the world trade organization due to be held in Doha in November, in which Jordan will take part as a member in the organization (WTO).

The Arab economic summit will discuss means of revitalizing and reactivating economic cooperation between the Arab states as well as encouraging various sectors to play their due role in maintaining sustainable inter- Arab economic development with the aim to preparing the proper environment to liberalize inter- Arab trade fully and holding joint investment projects especially in the field of the infrastructure.
